Heck, I even caught myself stopping to check out the details on Flowferns and Herbs a couple of times instead of just quickly passing them by like I normally do. Everything looks tack sharp compared to the Switch and the visuals are much improved overall. Visually, the character models for hunters, monsters and even your cat and Palamute look much more crisp and detailed.

The PC version of Monster Hunter Rise represents a significant step up in terms of visual quality and fidelity as well as frame rates over the Nintendo Switch version. Initial impressions of Monster Hunter Rise on the PC It just looks so buttery smooth and it makes it just that extra bit easier to make out enemy attacks and pull off your counters with proper timing.

As someone who prioritizes frame rate when I play on my PS4 Pro or my PS5, the high frame rates are one of my favorite parts of the PC version of Rise. You also have a lot of options for frame rate starting from 30 frames per second then going up to 60, 90, 120, 144, 165, 240 and even uncapped for members of the master race out there. It also just feels pleasing overall as it’s closer to your natural field of vision. That being said, playing the game on ultrawide is still quite nice and having that extra peripheral vision helps frame the monster more fully and reduces the number of surprises from your blind side. That’s a bummer for folks like me who game on a super ultrawide display on PC. So first off, just like World and Iceborne, the PC version of Rise does not have super ultrawide, so your max aspect ratio is 21:9.

So I thought, hey, why not give everyone a taste of Monster Hunter Rise in its full ultrawide glory. I mean, I primarily game on console so I’m not a PC elitist by any means but it really is noticeable. At least until you get Rage Tackle.Īnyway, after hundreds upon hundreds of hours on the Switch, I’d say that the difference between the console and PC versions hit me like a lance slap to the face. 13 so I’ve decided to give folks a sneak peek of the game’s master race edition, not just on widescreen but ultrawide.īecause as any Great Sword user knows, size matters.

The Monster Hunter Rise PC demo is out on Oct.
